at their level, playing chords and quarter note melodies, doesn't do it anymore. They're up there on stage for them, the audience just happens to be there enjoying also.

John Mclaughlin sounds like a computer is controlling his fingers. Not that he isn't talented, but speed is a small aspect of music.

i am kind of disapointed.
ok i dont want to argue with you. cause this is a personal thing.. but where is the melody? i would never hear that song in my cd player. this is maybe art and hard to play..
but, thank god there are millions of nicer guitar sounds gives me good feelings by hearing them :)

The melody is in there. The vocabulary they use isn't easily understandable at their level. It's like Steven Hawking talking black holes to a 1st grader.
