Exactly Dfelts2323, the purpose of including bombings and screaming sounds in the US anthem was basically to denounce the vietnam war and the presence of US there. And he did in a festival of which the purpose was: 3 days of peace, love and music.
The only pity is that he played the last of the festival with only 50.000 people left out of the 500.000 that went there. But still his reinterpretation of the US anthem is part of Hendrix legend

People::: drugs have made some of the greatest legends of all time,, music and poetry wise. Of course not sports.. I just wondered if ya'll realized how he made it sound like bombs and fireworks going off during this. At points he made it sound like war. AWESOME... The best in my opinion, because he created a new sound. RESPECTS

yea man i belive u i just hate the people who say he died from heron cuz he didnt he died from choking on vomit and then really dumb people will say his girl friend killed him but it dosent matter cuz he is the god of guitar and we should just b happy that he was alive 2 give us the best guitar playing we have ever heard

yeah i just read a biography on him. he had some alcohal at a club and when he took the sleeping pills and fell asleep the alcohal caused him to puke but he did not wake up because of the pills so the vomit stayed in his throat going into his lungs and collapsing them. dont tell me im wrong because i just finished the book yesterday...

yea he died cuz of sleeping pills he was trying 2 get his sleeping on track cuz he just made the swicth again from UK to US he didnt die from heron OD if u think that u know nothing about Jimi Hendrix and yes he is th god of guitar
